PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear NARI Members:

When I first stepped up to the podium at the January meeting I asked a question, but was not prepared for the response.   "Are y'all fired up?", I asked in a lowly and calm tone.  I sort of felt it in the air, but was not sure, so I decided to just ask.  What a roar, from the record breaking one hundred twenty two in attendance.  I expected much less, and I am sorry, but very well pleased.  I am fired up and most obviously not alone.  We have already and will continue to do great things for the industry and the community.  One of the critical elements in our plan is sharing this vision with others. Let me say this again, because it is so important.  A critical element, is sharing the vision.  This needs to be accomplished by expanding our ranks with deserving, hand picked people that we already know, but are not yet members.  We need to ride the wave of excitement.

I ask you to stop reading this RIGHT NOW.  Just pick up the phone and make a call to that person you already know well.  Resist the temptation to "do it later" It takes a brief moment, but as a group can have a significant, long lasting impact on the environment that supports our families.

If you are reading this, and not yet a member call 704-365-6274.  Ask about riding the wave of excitement with us.  Or, you can down load the application form on the NARI web site www.naricharlotte.com.  Call the number above with any questions.

Let me prove it to you right here and now:  I just called Dee Harris 704-400-2773, he owns Harris Mini Concrete, he would be great.  He runs mini concrete trucks; perfect for the tight remodeling and in-fill jobs some of us work on. We need to know him, and he needs to know us.  Every time I talk to him, he is positive, shows up for deliveries, charges a fair price, and seems like an all around good egg.  We will check him out if he applies.  Funny thing he said to me in our conversation.  "You are right Rob, I NEED TO JOIN, you NARI guys stand for ethics, education, and the good of the industry"  These are the words of a non-member, that's a view from the outside looking in. That's a powerful perception.  As a member, reading this I hope you are proud, fired up and inspired to share the vision. Go and find your "Dee Harris"

I leave you now with an original "Rob Millerism" quote I often tell reluctant prospects in my sales job.  It's important here, because it directly applies and also because it is absolutely true.  Should you agree, please use it to find us members and yourself more customers.

"You can be successful without me, and I can be successful without you, but we will both be more successful with each other."
Warmest Regards,

Rob Miller Signature
